Fouad Laroui

Fouad Laroui is a Moroccan writer, novelist, columnist and literary critic who lives between Casablanca, Amsterdam, and Paris.​

Following his education in economics and engineering, Fouad started his career as a writer. Since becoming a writer, Fouad has published over 20 books and collections, including novels, short stories, essays, and poems. His novels have been published and translated in ten countries, and his works have won numerous prizes in France and The Netherlands. His novels have been shortlisted numerous times for the Prix Goncourt, France’s most prestigious literary prize. ​

In addition to writing, Fouad also teaches literature at the University of Amsterdam. He holds an degree in Engineering (École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées, Paris 1982) and a PhD in Economics (Paris 1994).​
